Hi there, my name is Sarika Goel. A lot of my friends call me Goel (pronounced like the -goyle part of the word gargoyle) - hence the little 'G' you see in the top left corner.
WHAT I'M STUDYING
Undergraduate Industrial Engineering with a focus on Human Centred Design at the University of Toronto. (I'm fully aware of how obnoxious that sounds.)
WHERE I'M WORKING
Human Factors Intern at Healthcare Human Factors. Previously: UX Design Intern at Macy's Tech (Summer 2019), and Maintenance and Reliability Data Intern at Bombardier Aerospace (Summer 2018).
WHAT I'M PASSIONATE ABOUT
Growing my UX Consulting Team, Design for X. Also Slam Poetry. Talk to me about either of these things anytime.
WHAT I'M TRAINING FOR
Iron Dragons, the University of Toronto dragonboat team. This is my first year on the team, and as someone who's never done any sports, this is pretty far outside my comfort zone. But that's where the fun happens!
WHAT I'M READING
Creativity Inc. Creativity is a key ingredient in everything I do, both professionally and personally. And who better to learn from about fostering creativity than Ed Catmull, one of the co-founders of Pixar, and the author of Creativity Inc.
WHAT I'M WATCHING
When They See Us. Until now I believed that my eyes were wide open. Watching this series made me realize that they may still be half shut. The harrowing tale of the social injustice experienced by 5 boys from New York is a must-watch.
WHAT I'M LISTENING TO
The Tim Ferriss Show Episode #389: Neil deGrasse Tyson – How to Dream Big, Think Scientifically, and Get More Done.
WHY I'M LAUGHING
Stephen King has a son named Joe. I'm not joking, but he is. Ba dum tssss.
